OPS Role in Pennsylvania Lean Journey Expands

Wednesday, August 16, 2017

Operational Performance Solutions, Inc. (OPS), a Veteran Owned Small Business based in Westminster, MD has expanded the role it has in bringing Lean principles and practices to the government of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  After a successful year of providing Lean training and consulting for Pennsylvania's Governor's Office of Transformation, Innovation, Management and Efficiency (GO-TIME), Lean is working with GO-TIME and the project has expanded from a three-agency pilot to include 15 agencies.  Our service offerings have expanded to include large multi-agency and complex processes.  All agencies are working directly with OPS to continue their Lean journeys.

During the past year, OPS has led process improvement efforts for multiple agencies where they made significant improvements in customer service, quality, efficiency, employee morale and reducing costs.  This was done by OPS working with department leaders, stakeholders and those actually doing the work on the frontlines to help bring about opportunities for continuous improvement based on Lean principles.

OPS has also trained several hundred Commonwealth of Pennsylvania employees in Lean and mentored more than one hundred 5S workplace organization and A3 problem solving projects led by Commonwealth of Pennsylvania employees, yielding a wide range of immediate improvements.

According to President John Beakes, III, "We plan to help Pennsylvania build on the strong Lean foundation it has established and look forward to the continued expansion of their efforts as they transform the way the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania does business."
