Operational Performance Solutions was selected to provide Lean Process Improvement Services to the State of Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation's (DLLR) Trade Adjustment Assistance Program. Lean Government is widely being recognized as a methodology that will help processes become more efficient and effective while increasing value to citizens and reducing costs. This project began in April with Lean Training followed by a Value Stream Analysis Process (VSAP). The VSAP provided an in-depth look at processes with key players in the organization and included a review of the current state and mapping of a future state. Additionally, a detailed Implementation Plan was developed. Following the VSAP, OPS will provide coaching and implementation support.
OPS has led successful projects using the Lean Government methodology at One Stop Career Centers in Carroll and Howard counties, as well as the City of Baltimore. Each of these projects significantly reduced waiting time for citizens to receive services which will get them back into the job market more quickly.
